This elaborate ewer reflects the artist's desire to combine his eclectic interests and experiences in historical ceramic traditions with a contemporary style. The elegant and highly glossed body of the pot suggests a vegetable form, to which a flamboyant gold baroque handle and jaunty lid--with a tassel composed of a rubber crawfish and fish hook--have been added.
