Arabian Seasons

Arabian Seasons
Arabian Seasons by Therman Statom is one of the exquisite objects featured in the online exhibit Renwick at 25.

In this piece, one asks, 'Is this glass art or art using glass?' The question is essentially one of artistic intent. Therman Statom cuts, constructs, and paints industrially produced plate glass and adds found objects to create visually compelling assemblages. In looking at Statom's art, one senses that stories are being told that the viewer cannot interpret.
