Green + Peaceful World = Greenpeace
Thirty years ago today, twelve crew members set sail across the North Pacific in a bold attempt to stop a U.S. nuclear test in the Aleutian Islands off the west coast of Alaska.Five months later, the United States announced an end to atmospheric nuclear testing there.
From this humble beginning, Greenpeace has grown to a global environmental organization known for its creative confrontation. Their activism currently focuses on climate change, oceans, forests, toxics, nuclear hazards, and genetic engineering.
Jennifer Morla's assertive poster, Save Our Earth, echoes Greenpeace's goals.
