Spin City
Today, "spin" refers not to media hype, but rather the circular action of a lathe in the art of wood turning!
Come on over to the Renwick Gallery at 1:00 P.M. today and learn all about a wood turning craftsman.
In honor of Black History Month, view the film Beyond Wood Portrait of an Artist and learn more about wood turner Frank Cummings III. Cummings's work is featured in the exhibition, Wood Turning since 1930, which opens at the Renwick Gallery on March 15.
The Renwick Gallery is located at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, across the street from the White House. If you cannot visit the Renwick, check out our wood turning online exhibition Mark Lindquist: Revolutions in Wood.
