Angna Enters
Take a microphone and claim your three and a half minutes of fame!

Celebrate National Karaoke Week from April 21 to 27. The word "karaoke" comes from two Japanese words meaning "empty orchestra." In a karaoke recording, only instrumentalists play. In an incredible act of bravery, an amateur sings the lyrics to the song before a live audience. Build your self-esteem and release some tension—or watch others do so in a week of karaoke madness!

The figure in today's artwork seems to have lost herself in song! This watercolor depicts a multitalented artist, Angna Enters (1907–1989). Known as a dancer and mime, she also was a celebrated painter, sculptor, author, composer, choreographer, and theatrical designer.
