Chillin' with Mom
Celebrate Mother's Day the old fashioned waywith quality time!
Joseph Rodríguez believes that taking pictures allows him to meet people, get to know them, and learn how to listen. Mothers on the Stoop, from a series documenting life in Spanish Harlem, captures the easy camaraderie of four Puerto Rican women seated on the steps of their brownstone tenement enjoying their children. The series, which is empathetic, sensitive, and at times brutally honest, addresses issues of identity and the persistence of values within the community.
