In Full Bloom
Today is Take Your Houseplants for a Walk Day.
Let your houseplants get to know their neighborhood. Take them for a walk so they can appreciate their surroundings and grow profusely in their environment!
Today's print by Grace Albee shows a popular house plantthe African violet. Albee's wood engravings record her favorite places. Most of her prints are of houses and farms throughout her neighborhood in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Albee only made a few still lives during her career. She developed an interest in depicting flowers, and African Violet is one of her favorite flower prints. This print contrasts the leaves' sensual, velvety texture against the crisp handkerchief.
