Indian Flick
Gain insight to Plains Indian traditions with today's documentary film on Kiowa author N. Scott Momaday.
In Momaday: Voice of the West, the Pulitzer Prize winning novelist, storyteller, and educator shares his knowledge of Plains Indian culture. George Catlin painted hundreds of Plains Indians in the 1830s, including this 1834 portrait of Kiowa chief Bón-són-gee.
The film is part of our extensive programming to complement our exhibition George Catlin and His Indian Gallery. See the show and the movie at our Renwick Gallery, located at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, across the street from the White House. To view the 30-minute documentary, meet in the Palm Court at 1:00 P.M.
