Modernism & Abstraction Closing in Florida Today

Only One
Today is your last chance to view the our traveling exhibition Modernism & Abstraction: Treasures from the Smithsonian American Art Museum at The Art Museum at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.

Its purplish blue and earth tones hinting at its subject, Only One is a stylized aerial view of a river winding through a barren Southwestern landscape. O'Keeffe enjoyed flying, which allowed her to take in a wealth of strikingly abstract forms from this new perspective.

O'Keeffe's painting is among the seventy art works featured in Modernism & Abstraction, one of eight exhibitions in Treasures to Go, from the Smithsonian American Art Museum, touring the nation through 2002.
