Scenes of American Life: Treasures from the Smithsonian American Art Museum opened yesterday at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Scenes of American Life: Treasures from the Smithsonian American Art Museum is one of eight exhibitions in Treasures to Go, touring the nation through 2002. This exploration of the twentieth century, from the excitement of New York and the roaring twenties through the depression and postwar period, features works by Edward Hopper, Jacob Lawrence, and Paul Cadmus.
