Happy birthday to Jasper Johns—a trailblazing painter, sculptor, and printmaker—born in 1930.

Along with Robert Rauschenberg, Johns was an important contributor to the Pop Art and Minimal Art movements. He became particularly well-known for his cool and objective representations of numbers, flags, targets, and maps of the United States.
