Remembering War Heroes

On Memorial Day, we take time to remember those who have died in battle.

The day is sometimes called Decoration Day because we traditionally decorate the graves of servicemen and women.

After Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and America entered World War II, artist William H. Johnson created numerous paintings that explored the contributions of African Americans to the war effort.
