
American Impressionism Closing in East Hampton
Today is your last chance to view the traveling exhibition American Impressionism: Treasures from the Smithsonian American Art Museum at the Guild Hall Museum in East Hampton, New York. John Henry Twachtman depicted his wife Martha and three of their children in thegarden of their home in Greenwich, Connecticut. Dressed in white and bathed insunlight, the figures suggest an idealized scene of domestic harmony amid thecarefully tended flowers.
