American Impressionism Opens in Minneapolis

Tohickon
The Minneapolis Institute of Arts in Minneapolis, Minnesota, will host American Impressionism: Treasures from the Smithsonian American Art Museum from August 20 through October 29, 2000.

Included in the exhibiton is this evocative landscape by Daniel Garber. A leading member of the artists' colony at New Hope, Pennsylvania, Daniel Garber painted this landscape in a manner that critics compared to a woven French tapestry. Garber depicted the Tohickon River in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, running beside Point Pleasant, which can be seen in the distant hills.
