The Original Hot (Dog) Rod
Today marks the 65th anniversary of the Wienermobile! In 1936, Carl G. Mayer, nephew of the Oscar Mayer company founder, created the Wienermobile to transport the company's spokespersonthen known as Little Oscar.
General Body Company of Chicago, Illinois, built the first "hot-dog rod" for $5,000. Since then, there have been several models of the Wienermobile.
We think artist Patti Warashina ought to combine her "hot rod" with theirs to make wiener roasting a regular part of the commute!
