Edward Hopper: Oh, it's a long time between canvases. …I have to be very much interested in the subject. It's a complicated process. It has to do with personality, of course. It's very difficult to explain. But I do perhaps two pictures a year, which is not enough but, anyhow, one good picture's worth a thousand inferior ones.
