Old Arrow Maker -- 2
True to the text of The Song of Hiawatha, Lewis shows Minnehaha "plaiting mats of flags and rushes" and her father "making arrowheads
of jasper." They both look toward Hiawatha, whose presence
is implied by the deer lying at Minnehaha's feet. Lewis executed
several copies of the work, which is also known by the title Hiawatha's
Wooing.
