Nude Getting into Bath Everett Shinn, ca. 1910 color monotype, 23.4 x 31.2 cm (9 1/4 x 12 1/4 in.), Smithsonian American Art Museum Shinn Biography	The subject and composition of Nude Getting into Bath, as well as the combination of pastel with monotype, suggest that Shinn was familar with Degas's monotypes. There is no record that he ever met Degas, but it is clear in Shinn's works of the early 1900s that Degas's monotypes and pastels had a major impact on the young artist and probably inspired his own brief experimentation with monotype.
