When San Francisco celebrated the Golden Gate International Exposition in 1939, this poster was one of the eight-piece "Indian Court" series by Louis Siegriest. The artist chose images representing many tribal nations using materials given to him by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The silkscreening was done by the Works Project Administration and supervised by Siegriest on a boat anchored off Treasure Island, the location of the exposition.
