Biography of April Greiman Born in the United States and educated both here and in Europe, April Greiman studied commercial art in high school and earned a B.F.A. degree in 1970 at the Kansas City Art Institute. There she took classes with three European teachers from the Design School of Basel, which were followed by influential studies at that school in Switzerland in 197071.
In 1976, after settling in Los Angeles, Greiman developed a remarkably active career in all aspects of graphic design, including many projects for corporations, museums, and workshops on poster design. From the outset Greiman has been involved in the use of new technology in design, multimedia, and the "purely scientific." She is also noted for collaborative work with architects, and for a United States Information Agency (USIA) exchange program in which her work traveled throughout Russia in 1994. Her designs have been recognized in a series of major awards and exhibitions.
