Adrian Saxe's Candle Lamp and Tea Bowl and Stand are small, precious objects that suggest a jeweler's sensibility rather than a ceramist's. Richly colored, refined, and detailed, these two pieces proudly proclaim their respective functions. On closer inspection, however, we are left to wonder how one would drink tea from a tea bowl with a sawtooth rim.
