| Entranced by the dazzling optical effects she had seen in Amish quilts, Rothschild began quilting fifteen years ago. Her early works in fabric were strictly geometric, repeat block designs in graduated colors. After her travels to the mountains of New Zealand, Canada, and West Virginia, Rothschild has turned to portraying tree-covered mountains, as seen in this quilt. |
