Nina Gaby attended the Bazalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, and received her BFA from the Rochester (NY) Institute of Technology School for American Crafts. She gained national recognition for her ceramics before returning to school in her mid-thirties to earn a master's degree in psychiatric-mental health nursing. Gaby worked for about fifteen years as a nurse and therapist, but has since returned to art. In 2006, she opened a small gallery in her Vermont studio where she highlights the work of local artists.
