Margaret Boozer

Margaret Boozer grew up in Alabama, where she studied art at Auburn University. After graduation, she attended Alfred University's College of Ceramics in New York, then moved to Washington, D.C. Boozer taught at the Corcoran College of Art and Design for ten years before establishing her "Red Dirt Studio" in Mt. Rainier, Maryland. She uses red clay dug from a pit behind her workshop to create sculptures that emphasize the natural texture of the material as it dries and cracks.
