Luce Artist Biography
Brenda Putnam studied art at the Boston Museum School of Art from 1905 until 1907. She also studied in Florence, Italy, and worked as a Works Progress Administration artist in the 1930s. In 1946, Congress commissioned Putnam to design a gold medal for World War II chief of naval operations, Admiral Ernest J. King.
