Georgia Marsh was born in Olean, New York, and received her B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1972. Participating in the European honors program, she spent the previous year in Rome. Marsh lived in Paris from 1973 to 1981, when she returned to New York. During the past decade she has received many awards, including fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1987 and 1989, an NEA international fellowship through the La Napoule Foundation in France in 1990, and a Pollock/Krasner Foundation Fellowship in 1992. She has exhibited in a number of group and solo shows in France, Italy, and the United States. Marsh currently lives in New York City.
