- Biography
D. X. Ross applied grisaille enamel to her jewelry, a technique she learned while studying printmaking at college. She fired a layer of black enamel onto the metal, painted over it with a thin wash of color, then scratched lines and patterns onto the surface to reveal the black underneath. Ross received a master of fine arts degree from the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, where she studied with the artist Jamie Bennett.
