Artwork Description

This sculpture shows the rebellious angel Lucifer, who, according to medieval Christian legend, was banished from heaven and sent to rule the underworld. The purple quartz of the base grows darker toward the bottom, emphasizing the angel’s descent into the darkness of hell.
