“I often feel we are influenced by the landscape of objects with which we daily interact.” Jan Yager, 1985
In response to the “cold and flat” machine-made jewelry of the 1970s, Jan Yager produced pillow-shaped metal, set with water-polished stones to showcase the “beauty often overlooked . . . [in] our modern lives.” Rock Necklace with Ridge illustrates Yager’s interest in the natural textures and forms that she discovered around her new home in Rhode Island.
