Artwork Description

This portrait was originally attributed to the artist Sarah Goodridge, but recent research has discovered this not to be the case. It is possibly by Henry Williams, or William Doyle, both of whom are represented in the collection. The Chase family lived in Fall River, Massachusetts, at the beginning of the nineteenth century.
