Artwork Description

Norm Sartorius originally concentrated on making spoons that were merely functional. He found, however, that people were reluctant to use such beautiful objects, and since 1990 his work has gradually become more sculptural. In Mutation, Sartorius has manipulated the dense texture of the wood into a sensual, twisted shape that only suggests a spoon.
