Artwork Description

Anthony de Francisci designed a medal for the Midland Utilities Company to commemorate employees who had saved lives. This uniface artist’s sample represents the obverse of the true medal. The nude figures evoke the vulnerability of those who worked on behalf of others, often in dangerous weather conditions.
