Professional Sports Teams

Would you like to learn about the New York professional sports teams? Would you like to hear some things about teams that play in New York?

Yankees

The Yankees play baseball. Some famous people for the Yankees are Babe Ruth, Alex Rodriguez, and Mickey Mantle. The stadium that the Yankees play for is in the Bronx. The location of the Yankees stadium is 161st River Ave. Also the capacity of the stadium is 58,000!

NY Mets

Another NY baseball team is the Mets. A hall of famer for the Mets is Darryl Strawberry. The Mets play in Shea Stadium. 1964 was when Shea opened.

NY Jets

Football is a big sport in New York. A football team named the Jets started in 1960. One of their Qb’s is Chad Pennington, #10.The Jets started off as a good team, but later on they got worse.

Giants

The Giants play football. Dangerous David Magget the kick returner was the best player for the Giants. Leonard Marshall was the best defensive end. Tiki Barber was the running back for the Giants. Eli Manning was the best quarterback for their team.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are from Buffalo, NY. We have three NFL teams. The Bills are not so good. Their HB is Travis Henry.

Rangers

The Rangers play hockey in Madison Garden. The New York Rangers have a good team. They sometimes lose against other teams.

Islanders

The New York Islanders are a professional ice hockey team based on in Uniondale, New York, located on Long Island. They play in the Atlantic Division of the National Hockey League.

Knicks

Did you know that the New York Knicks is a basketball team and their real name is the New York Knickerbockers? Knickerbockers means a person descended from the early Dutch Settlers of New York.

They are many professional teams in NY State. Aren’t we happy to cheer for all the NY teams?
