The artist's understanding of the easy camaraderie among these friends comes from first-hand knowledge. Born in Baltimore, between 1971 and 1973 Freeman rarely missed a Sunday afternoon in Druid Hill Park, a popular Baltimore destination where families and friends met and mingled. He has chronicled such experiences and traditions in his community for nearly thirty years.
