Peter Milton considers Splash one of his favorite drawings. "I like the sense of perhaps a professor conducting his class and everything is falling apart. His students have undressed and are in hysterics over his affectionate attendance to a cuddly and silly creature. . . . Behind, an aquarium contains languorous swimmers, sensually gliding through geometric figures. . . . Even the room is becoming an aquarium. The girls are totally at home in it. The professor is mainly just getting his clothes wet."
