Rock is a study for one of the largest paintings in Bartlett’s mural series, Swimmers Atlanta. The scale of the elliptical forms and broad brush strokes draw the viewer deep into the color, space, and energy of the experience. The grid section offers a view into the distance, even a horizon line. Together, the two parts evoke the physical and psychological aspects of a swimmer's experience.
