Monotonous architectural elements used as building blocks blur under an early morning blanket of shadow. Baltz’s 1977 series, Nevada, describes a stark, isolated suburban tract. Twelfth in the series of fifteen prints, Lemmon Valley Looking Northeast implies that we build monochromatic suburbs and then must flee to the city for color and enrichment
