Using his largest camera, Niagara Falls specialist George Barker surmounted extraordinary difficulties in capturing this image. His tripod, cameras, and glass plates all had to be transported to this precarious spot and operated in freezing temperatures. Undaunted, Barker produced a variety of scenes of natural wonders that he offered for sale to tourists at Barker’s Niagara Studio.
