Poignant and nostalgic, this image of the New Jersey Meadowlands describes a landscape of industrial complexity. Neat, horizontal divisions of railroad tracks, electric lines, and roads give the photograph a solid base while the curve of the river reflects the arc of the road on the left. The pair of stacks in the center of the frame echoes the towers of the World Trade Center, then a prominent feature in the pale gray skyline of Manhattan.
