A muffineer is a small shaker with a perforated top used to sprinkle salt or sugar on buttered muffins. Once common to the well-set table of the wealthy, today muffineers are mostly collectible curiosities. Margret Craver's muffineer is a one-of-a-kind object that can be enjoyed for its uniqueness. In its clean lines and simple forms, this muffineer is indebted to modern industrial design. However, Craver's master metalworking skills and design sensibility infuse the shaker with a vitality uncommon to manufactured objects.
