Sam Maloof has made and designed furniture for more than fifty years. He is best known for his custom-designed chairs and rockers. His rocking chairs are at once functional pieces and lively sculptures. This rocker embodies the hallmarks of Maloof's mature furniture. The individual components—back, seat, arms, legs, and rocker blades—are integrated into a visually satisfying design. The chair is complete from every angle in the same way that a successful sculpture exists in space. The beauty of the wood enhances the clean lines of the rocker and its exuberant design.
