In Pinocchio Deborah Oropallo integrates words and images into a total aesthetic that touches on the fragility of human life. Here the words from the celebrated Italian folk tale about a little boy made of wood are enclosed in three-dimensional disks that recede in space and span timber laid out for a bonfire. The disks are a means of escape or deliverance from potentially perilous conditions.
