Sculpture Stand makes light of the stereotype of the Parisian artist. Here, we see the artist reduced to a stylized beret, exaggerated lips, and a prominent paint brush. Strong elements in the sculpture are the checkered pattern of a marble floor and the colorful stripes of the stand. The title of the sculpture is a humorous play on words. The central element of the sculpture is a tripod sculptural stand, which stands on a base that simulates a floor.
