Maldonado raises the possibility of a one-hour trip from coast to coast and extends his view with a painted frame that reaffirms his desire to explore beyond normal boundaries. At age sixty, facing retirement, Maldonado acted on a suggestion from his sister and began painting. He expressed his fantastic visions of a utopian future in compositions that show planets, space travel, and pollution-free cities.
