A collector and admirer of assorted scraps of cloth, Kochansky is passionate about color. She quilts abstract images inspired by views of her flower garden through a window. She also draws inspiration from the rural property surrounding her South Carolina studio, delighting in the visual disparity between that which is tiny and immediate and the vast and panoramic distance.
