Renwick Renovation

A major renovation of the Renwick Gallery currently is underway and the building is closed to the public until November 13, 2015. Westlake Reed Leskosky is the lead architectural design and engineering firm; Consigli Construction Co., Inc. is the general construction contractor. This project includes completely renewed infrastructure, enhanced historic features and other upgrades that will make the National Historic Landmark building a 21st-century destination attraction.

A special opening exhibition, "Wonder," featuring original installations by nine major contemporary artists, as well as three special publications and a celebratory weekend of programs and activities, will accompany the reopening.

Photographs of the Renwick Gallery, both historical and contemporary, can be downloaded for use in media coverage of the Renwick Gallery only from the Images link in the Press Room. Email americanartpressoffice[at]si.edu for the password.
