Collector's Roundtable
at the Smithsonian American Art Museum

SAAM's new series, Collector's Roundtable, opens the doors to the exciting world of art collecting. Nationally acclaimed experts share their experiences with seasoned and novice collectors. Those who sign up for the three-part series by August 29 (e-mail or fax, see order for details), will be entered in a raffle for a select group to visit a distinguished private collection in the metro area. Those not selected in the raffle will receive an invitation to a Smithsonian American Art Museum special exhibition opening reception in fall 2008.

A Brush with Georgia O'Keeffe

McEvoy Auditorium, Lower Level

AAM proudly presents the Washington premiere of this 2008 off-Broadway play written by actress and playwright Natalie Mosco and directed by Robert Kalfin. Mosco portrays the celebrated artist while her fellow cast members, Virginia Roncetti and David Lloyd walters, take on various roles representing people in O'Keeffe's life- including her husband, Alfred Stieglitz. The play takes an innovative and fresh look a the life of Georgia O'Keeffe and her ascent to prominence as the most distinguished American female artist of the twentieth century.
