The aftermath of the temptation is the subject of this carving by New Mexican Eluid Martinez. Adam and Eve have fled, leaving behind a partially eaten apple. The snake coiled around the Tree of Knowledge and the winged Devil remain, as do bright red fruits that are symbolic of future temptations.
