The Principal Financial Group—Corporate One
The original structure of the present home office building was recognized by Architectural Record as "The Building of the Decade" for its economical and efficient solutions to the problems affecting all commercial buildings. It was built from 1938 to 1940, and reflects the Art Deco designs popular at the time. Since that time the building has been expanded with six additions.
