Corporate Four and The Principal Plaza,
Des Moines

"The Plaza was meant to unite a fragmented corporate campus and to construct a corporate plaza that would also accommodate the public - part of the bargain struck with the city when it decided to close a bisecting street. Walker's design uses a strong but diagonal axis to connect the buildings, a linear gesture borrowed from the company's corporate logo that serves to emphatically connect the two buildings. A mist fountain and central square enhances the kinetic presentation while also providing a stage for concerts."
